Culture add

Hiring for what someone adds to culture, not just fit.

Culture add is a hiring mindset that values what a candidate brings that the culture currently lacks, rather than only how comfortably they fit existing norms. It counters the risk of culture fit becoming a screen for sameness, which can entrench bias and dull innovation. Framing hiring around contribution keeps teams diverse and evolving while still protecting the core values that define the organisation.
