What we collect
Information you give us. When you use a tool, submit a profile or nomination, request a careers site audit, subscribe to The Atlas Brief, or take the Global Employer Brand Census, we collect what you enter — which may include your name, work email, company, job title, and your answers.
Engagement analytics. We use privacy-friendly, first-party analytics to understand which pages and links people find useful. It records page views and clicks only — no third-party advertising cookies and no personal identifiers. Interactive tools (the EVP Grader, White Space Finder, Give & Get and Business Case generators, and the Benchmark) run entirely in your browser — the text you paste is never sent to us.
How we use it
- To send you what you asked for (a report, template, results, or the newsletter).
- To produce aggregated, anonymised benchmarks — we never publish your individual response.
- To review and moderate submissions before they go live.
- To improve the site based on what people engage with.
- If — and only if — you request a careers site audit or demo, Happydance may contact you about it.
Lawful basis
We rely on your consent (when you submit a form) and our legitimate interest in running and improving a free industry resource (for privacy-friendly analytics).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use trusted processors to run the service — our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon) and our email provider (to send the messages you request). Careers-site audit requests are shared with Happydance, our parent company, so they can help you. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it, and no longer than necessary. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or unsubscribe, at any time — just email [email protected]. Experts listed in our directory can update or remove their profile via their profile or the removal form.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.
Cookies & analytics
We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our first-party analytics can be switched off — use “Opt out of analytics” in the notice at the foot of the page, or opt out here.
Children
The Atlas is a professional resource intended for people working in employer brand, HR and recruitment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
