What skills do you need for employer branding?

Research and insight, brand and storytelling, content and channels, stakeholder influence, and data and measurement.

Five capabilities recur. Research and insight, to uncover what is genuinely true and distinctive. Brand and storytelling, to turn that into a clear, memorable promise and narrative. Content and channel fluency, to reach audiences where they are. Stakeholder influence, because you rarely control the teams whose behaviour shapes reputation. And data and measurement, to prove impact and earn continued investment. The blend matters: strong creatives who cannot influence leaders, or analysts who cannot tell a story, both stall. The pitfall is over-indexing on one strength, usually content, and neglecting the persuasion and evidence skills that determine whether the work is funded, believed and connected to real hiring outcomes.
