Boomerang employee

A former employee who returns to the organisation.

A boomerang employee is someone who leaves the organisation and later returns, bringing back institutional knowledge alongside fresh outside experience. Their willingness to come back is a strong endorsement of the employer brand and a sign that departures were handled well. Actively welcoming boomerangs, and keeping in touch through an alumni network, turns former staff into a fast, low-risk source of proven talent.
