What is employer brand?

Employer brand is the reputation an organisation has as a place to work, and the value proposition it offers to current and prospective employees.

Your employer brand is the reputation you hold as a place to work and the promise that reputation implies to current and future employees. It lives in the gap between what you say about working there and what people actually experience, from the first job advert to the exit interview. Think of it as the talent-market equivalent of a consumer brand: it shapes whether the right people apply, accept and stay. The common pitfall is treating it as a logo or a careers-page tagline; in reality it is built from everyday behaviours, management quality and how honestly you describe the work. You do not fully own it, because your people and the wider market shape it too.
